Over the past few years I’ve decided that rather than making resolutions (which seem to only make it a month or so if I’m really on my game), I would choose a word to focus on for the year. Something to use as an overall guiding thought for all the day-to-day moments.
It seems to stick with me much longer than making resolutions, and it’s been really interesting to see the way it applies to different seasons & situations throughout the year.
This year, my word is once again a result of where my life is & what I want it to look like. I am constantly juggling so many things with multiple businesses, a part-time job, raising two littles, continuing to grow my relationship with Max, supporting friends, growing in my faith, building our social roots in Kingwood, and finding time to take care of myself as well.
With all of that going on, I want to really push myself to be smart about where I place my time & effort. About how I’m spending my time & where my thoughts are going. I want to be more present in each moment and in the lives of the people I love the most. I want to be strategic about how I grow my businesses and more importantly, how I pour into the lives I’m a part of through those businesses.
This year I am going to be really working on being more intentional. Being intentional with my time, my words, my gifts, my finances, my faith, my family.
Words from previous years:
I’d love to hear from you!! Drop into the comments & let me know what your word for the year is, or what your biggest resolution is for 2018! I want to come along side you & cheer you on!!
I am caring over my 2017 word – GRACE and will add PATIENCE for a double 2018 word.
What a powerful combination those words can be for your 2018!!! Love it!
