One of the recent items I’ve crossed off of the inaugural Yearly To Do List is trying out a sewing project other than pillows or burp cloths. I’m excited about this one, but I do have to give a full disclaimer that I had a little guidance from my mom on this one. Overall though – the sewing was done by me, and I’m just happy the dress I made actually fit Peanut!
I decided to go with a patriotic (and simple) little dress for Peanut to wear for the 4th of July. Sadly we spent the pretty part of the 4th driving, and the rest of the day was a bit on the rainy side, so our photoshoot to get photographic evidence of the outcome of this bucket list item didn’t happen until a few days later. Of course, my little busy-bee wasn’t much into the idea of getting her photo taken, but we still got a few cute ones (and enough for proof) anyway!
The last one in this series just cracks me up EVERY. TIME. Check out that little model face! Too funny…
If I make this same pattern dress again, I’ll probably shorten the straps a little as they seemed to be a bit much, but they’ll work for round one! I also decided to add in the little trim at the bottom, and while it was a bit of a pain for me to keep it in place to get it sewn on straight, I’m glad I went for it! I think it add a much needed little touch to the bottom.
And how about this “smile”?!?!?! Sweet, silly girl. Love her.
Love this wild-haired, mid-running spree shot of my sweet girl. She’s definitely busy, but she’s also definitely joy-filled the majority of the time!
Not the very best little dress, and I’m clearly not meant for a run on Project Runway or anything, but I’m happy with how it turned out for being a novice when it comes to sewing! Cross another item off the list!!

Impressed beyond measure with this bucket list item! And the model is fabulously cute!!
Thank you!!! It’s definitely not perfect, but I’m happy with it! And I totally agree about the model!
Love!! Love the dress. Love peanut. Love the momma!
P.S. Does Oma do sewing boot camps? 😉😳
For you, I’m sure she would gladly offer a sewing boot camp!!!
