I’m in a season of life full of busy & not much time spent just for me. It’s crazy building a business, raising two littles, working a side job, supporting my husband in the effort to earn his doctoral degree, trying to squeeze in things like exercise & sleep… but a miracle happened last weekend. The stars aligned in my life (& in the lives of three of my dear friends from grad school), and I snuck away for a weekend in Fredericksburg!
Meeting up with Adrian, Deepti & Jessica for a weekend of laughter, friendship & wine tasting was just what I needed! It was my first trip to Fredericksburg, and I have a feeling it won’t be the last!
We did have a semi-grad school kind of moment when our Airbnb didn’t have enough wine glasses & Deepti & I ended up having our evening glass of wine out of measuring cups/beakers…
I loved all the different details at the different wineries!
Even though it was super cold, we were able to enjoy some music out on the patio (while we waited for our wine shuttle… but it still counts)!
Cheers to great friends, good wine, and the free chocolate tastings they had outside!! I ended up buying Max a box of Smoked Salted Bourbon Pecan chocolates, and I am STILL shocked that whole box made it home to him without any pieces missing!
Holy awkward wine glass hold there, Brooke… but awkward hands or not, I’m glad I made a point to get IN a few pictures instead of just taking them!
We made it to Woodrose Winery (where Jessica & her hubby got married!!), and decided some snacks were in order… good choice!
Loved that dogs were wandering through the tasting room (almost as much as Adrian loved it…)!
Deepti, Jessica & Adrian, thank you so much for being such incredible women. I am thankful to have you in my life, even if we don’t see each other nearly often enough!! I’m already looking forward to next year’s grad school girls’ weekend… love you & Wreck ’em!!
