Sweet girl,
You’re 3!!!! I can’t believe it’s already (past) time for another letter… This year you were so much more aware that your birthday was coming, and it just cracked me up that during your party, it didn’t click that we were celebrating your birthday until we brought out the cake…. and then you just light right up! Your joy rises up all the way from your toes, Pumpkin, and it pours right out of yoru eyes and your smile and those dimples… and when you are excited or happy, I just can’t help but smile right along with you!
You are a VERY active little girl without a lot of fear which still makes me nervous at times (like when you climb the outside of the staircase!), but for the most part you just want to be outside riding your bike or your scooter. You FLY on that scooter, little girl! You do all kinds of tricks and constantly either have your serious “game face” or a big ol’ grin as you go flying around the back patio.
You still love to play with your babies & are still a great little mama! Some of your other favorite things at this age are:
- Doc McStuffins (you’ve inherited this love from your sister)
- Granola bars
- Your lovey
- School
- Riding your scooter or your bike
- Play-Doh
- Climbing into bed with me & Daddy at WAY too early in the morning
- The books Spooky Pookie & Llama Llama Red Pajama
- Putting on “shows” with your sister
- Playing “Brooke & Max” “Mommy & Baby” or doctor & patient with your sister
- Applesauce pouches
- Getting to get a donut after mass on Sundays if you & sister behaved well
- Dance parties with me in the kitchen
- Playing dress up
You are quite expressive, sweet girl. Sometimes I just can’t help but laugh at all of the facial expressions you make, usually in pretty rapid succession!
You’ve started to sing along to the songs we hear on KSBJ & to the songs on sister’s Vacation Bible School CD, and it just melts my heart to hear your sweet, little voice praising God in the backseat as we drive around Kingwood. I pray that those words of praise stay with you for a lifetime.
You’re growing so fast, and I know it won’t be long until this isn’t my view of you as you run up to me… I’m so thankful for photos like this that will help me remember forever how your sweet face looked smiling up at me!
You’ve definitely found your opinion & sometimes have toddler fits – usually over something to do with sister or not getting whatever snack you wanted right that moment – but for the most part, you’re a really happy little girl. You have a heart of gold and already want to take care of others. You love to make jokes & play silly games & your belly laugh is truly music to my ears.
Pumpkin, you absolutely have my heart. It gives me such joy to watch you & your sister playing together (when you’re not fighting), and I can’t wait to see your relationship continue to grow. Your heart is so big & so full of kindness & love. You remind me to have fun & to slow down & to make time for silly games & dance parties. You teach me so much and bring me even more joy. A lot of moments in parenting a toddler aren’t fun or easy, but all of the other moments of laughter & snuggles & seeing you learn new things everyday make it oh so worth it. I am so glad God chose me to be your mama… I love you to the moon & back, sweet girl!
