With my birthday earlier this week, it’s tempting to get caught up in the Facebook posts, texts, calls, emails, etc. It’s tempting to get caught up in the sweet gifts I was given. It’s tempting to get caught up in the decorations at work, and the thought of another year.
But really, what I was most caught up in was the amazing realization of how incredibly lucky I am to live this life of mine.
May not be the most glamorous – what up, East Texas!
May not be the most exciting – what up, weekend nights-in and simple Redbox date nights!
May not be the most enviable – what up, leftovers and clearance rack bargain clothes!
But it’s mine. And it’s full of so many people who have impacted me in countless ways. Yes, I’m aware that about 99.2% of the people who wished me happy birthday wouldn’t have known it was my birthday without the help of Facebook. But I don’t care. They still took the time to send a little message my way, and that’s what counts.
