This Easter weekend was just about perfect. 3 full days off, time with family and friends, great food, lots of sunshine and the knowledge that Christ died and rose to save us from sin and allow us to freely and fully enjoy life. I was so glad to be able to go spend the weekend with my brother and sister-in-law in Austin – we made the most of the weekend with lots of sunshine and lots and lots of food!!
We started out Saturday at the farmer’s market. The weather was gorgeous and the food was delicious. Peanut was loving it too (doesn’t she look like she just did a hair flip? ha!)
These blackberry almond scones from Cake and Spoon were amazing… like the kind of amazing where you end up going back to get a second one before you leave the farmer’s market 🙂
Also amazing? These bacon/apple/brie kolaches. So. Good. (wish I could remember the name of this food truck, but I guess I was just too busy enjoying the kolache… oops!)
The fresh fruits and veggies, and the fresh flowers were so pretty… and so was the food!
After the farmer’s market we headed over to Zilker Park to enjoy the sunshine. It was just perfect. Dogs running and playing, Peanut babbling, a soft breeze and the sunshine through the trees. I really enjoyed the chance to just slow down for a bit… A good reminder that I need to try to do that more often!
Love these two 🙂
Easter morning we all went to Moonshine Grill for Easter brunch and oh. my. goodness. Food overload and it was all delicious!!
Here’s a few more snapshots to round out the weekend… All such good stuff!
And lastly… this was right before we left to drive home, and I glanced over to see my brother and sister-in-law “group hugging” Peanut.. Such a sweet moment and a perfect way to end the weekend. I am truly so incredibly blessed beyond what I deserve with this family of mine. So so blessed.
I hope your Easter weekend was full of relaxation, family, good food and the comfort of knowing what Jesus’ sacrifice won us.
What a beautiful Easter celebration!
[…] definitely not anything to compare to the farmer’s market experience we had in Austin, but it was still lovely. The weather was on the gray and sticky side, but that didn’t bother […]
