Sweet girl,
You are seven months old… seven! And my goodness are you making this month count!
You’ve gotten a lot better about naps times in your crib, but sometimes still give us a little trouble during the afternoon nap. You’re starting to eat more foods including oatmeal cereal and some veggies, and aside from some pretty funny faces you’ve seemed to like everything for the most part.
A big development is that you’re officially CRAWLING! And little one, you love to move. You sometimes look like a little side-winder the way you kick your legs forward but slightly to the side. You also have a tendency of crawling forward a bit, and then plopping down on one side, legs kicked out, usually with your arm back by your hip – looking like you’re striking a little pose – and Pumpkin, it just cracks me up!
You seemed to really enjoy making me WORK taking your photos this month! You wouldn’t sit still for more than about 2.3 seconds!
You are still a huge fan of screaming. And you’ve got some lungs on you, sweet girl. Sometimes it’s cute/funny, and sometimes I wish I knew how to get you to stop. But at least for the vast majority of time, you’re screaming just cause you’re happy! Maybe with your sister talking so much, that’s your way to try to keep up at this point!
You are starting to get more and more determined & showing that you know what you want. Which oftentimes is to grab/pull my hair, or a necklace, or my drink. Sometimes it frustrates you when you can’t do what you want, but you also tend to usually laugh when I quickly pull my hair/necklace away and tell you it’s not for you. Probably not the smartest thing on my part to make that a game for you, but I just can’t help it when it makes you break out into that sweet, dimpled grin of yours.
Still no teeth yet, although you’re CONSTANTLY chewing on your index finger.
Sunshine girl, your joy is still just as contagious as always. Seeing your whole face light up and those dimples tucking in to your cheeks makes my heart happy in ways I can’t even describe.
(There’s that little model pose of yours!)
This is a pretty common view for me these days, and I hope I never, ever forget it. I hope this image comes to mind as you walk a graduation stage, walk down a wedding aisle, or walk over the doorway into a new home or office. I hope I always remember these sweet days when things are simple and you want to be as near to me as possible.
I love you to the moon and back, Pumpkin!
