Sweet girl,
You’re 4 months old! And you sure are getting more and more personality everyday. You are just as sweet as can be, and it seems you’re already trying to keep up with your big sister.
You have really found your voice now, and you’re almost always making a sound that is a little bit of a mix of singing & squealing – usually just because you’re happy. And maybe you because you hear your big sister talking non-stop and don’t want to be left out.
You’re still a pretty good sleeper overall, but your schedule is not very consistent from night to night, which is pretty tiring for your daddy and I, but I know these days will be short lived and I just keep telling myself I’ll sleep again at some point in my life!
I was just away from you for a whole weekend for the first time, and I don’t know if it was tough on you, but it sure was tough on me! I sooooo missed your dimples, the feeling of your fuzzy hair against my cheek as you nuzzle into my neck and the sound of your almost-there laughter. As tired as I was when I got back from my conference, I made sure to hold you just a few extra minutes in the middle of the night so I could just soak you in.
You’re getting to be so inquisitive, and it’s so much fun to watch you take in the world around you. Just like your sister, you’re a great reminder to me to try to see things with new eyes every once-in-a-while, so I don’t get blinded to the wonder that surrounds us all each and every day.
We are so blessed that you are full of such pure joyfulness almost all the time – you seriously are such a happy baby. Thank you for that, little one. On the days where I’m running on empty, you always seem to flash a smile (and those dimples) at me in just the right moment, and those blue eyes of yours just sparkle straight into my heart and I can’t help but smile too.
You’re sooooooooo close to being able to roll from your back to your tummy – which is exciting for us, but means that the days where we know you’ll be in the same spot where we set you down are almost gone! You seem to be enjoying the process of trying, too!
You’re working on getting some teeth and are constantly drooling/chewing on things. You LOVE chewing on stuff – and your toes have definitely become a recent favorite. I’ve started to not worry about putting socks on you because they just end up soaked!
Sometimes you make this little facial expression that seems as though you have a happy secret, and it cracks me up every time!
This is probably the last month that I’ll be able to keep the month sticker on your onesie for more than a minute at a time – you were starting to grab at it and thought it was such a fun game to pull on it and make me stick it back on!
See, Pumpkin? Personality for days already at 4 months old!
Pumpkin, thank you for the joy you bring us! I know the next month or two will be bringing lots of new and exciting changes, and I can’t wait to be there with you for all of them. I love you to the moon and back!
