So today is definitely a bittersweet day…. We are moving Peanut from our sitter’s house to a pre-school/daycare today.

We are really sad to be leaving our sitter. She has been so wonderful and really treats Peanut like she is her own. It’s a big deal to entrust your child to someone, and seeing the way Peanut smiles at her, blows kisses at her and so easily goes into her arms makes me so thankful. We have truly been blessed with her!

On the other hand, we are excited about having less of a drive every day. The drive has been so great for me, leading to lots of time to think and process and be still. It’s beautiful, and I tend to use that time as quiet time with God. But it’s hard to leave so early and get home so late each day. With the change, we’ll be getting back a solid amount of time as a family, and for that I’m thankful.

I’m also having to go through the process of another very concrete example of how my sweet girl is growing up so quickly! This definitely has more of a “drop her off at school” feel, which is equally overwhelming and exciting. I can’t wait to see all the things she is learning, but it’s sad to really feel like we’re leaving the “baby” stage behind!

On top of the transition this morning, we’re battling jet lag and exhaustion from our trip back from San Diego yesterday. This morning was a bit of a mess, so right now as far as photos go, all we’ve got ready to go is a slightly crooked & blurry little iPhone shot… but I love it nonetheless. My sweet happy girl looking o-so-grown up.

And for those who are wondering… the drop off at school was made free of tears. From both of us! My little social butterfly flitted right into the room, started exploring, greeted an old friend and started making new ones. Here’s hoping the note at the end of the day says the rest of the day went just as smoothly!
