Cake Smash, Children Portraits

Cake Smash – Wyatt

I made the trip down to Houston to spend a morning with a very handsome soon-to-be 1 year old… and loved every humid minute of it!! The rain held off just until I got in the car to head back home, and even with the humidity, this little boy and his parents were like pros! We started out with a (very) quick family session, then it was on to the real fun with cake smashing and bubble-bathing. Another plus to an already great session? Wyatt’s mama is a good friend of mine from back in my Texas Tech days. It’s always waaaaay too long in between times that we get to hang out, but when we do it’s just like no time at all has passed. Friends like that are such a blessing.

Ok… so there’s going to be a ton of photos today, so I’m just going to get right to it! Such a good-looking family!!

And it’s obvious that this guy loves his Grandpa! Wyatt in that hat? Precious. Wyatt-28_WEB

Before we left the park to head back to the house for cake-time, of course we had to jump on the swings for a little bit!!

So not only did Wyatt get to dive into some cake, he got balloons too!  Wyatt-45_WEB

Time for the cake!!!!

I absolutely love when little ones aren’t quite sure about the cake at first. Confused eyebrows, some hesitation, and a few looks at mom & dad to make sure it’s ok to really go after it. Too cute.

Wyatt? He’s got the confused eyebrows down for sure.  Wyatt-69_WEB

No more hesitation… game on!!!

It was too cute how Wyatt ate his cake… sure, he grabbed some handfuls (who wouldn’t?!?), but for the most part, he just used one finger and seemed to just keep digging deeper into the same part of the cake. Hadn’t seen that particular strategy yet! Cracked me up.

Wyatt-180_WEBAfter some sufficient smearing of icing, it was time for a bubble bath. Clearly. Wyatt-127_WEB

Really doesn’t get much cuter than this. Such a happy boy!! Wyatt-157_WEB

Wyatt-178_WEBI hope you’re all still conscious after that overdose of cuteness! I could seriously photograph this kid all. the. time.

Jess & Jason, THANK YOU for letting me be a little part of this milestone in Wyatt’s life and in your family’s life. He is a sweetheart, and I know he’s going to be a little heartbreaker in a few years! I hope there’s lots more swings, bubble baths and cake in your future. Love y’all!
