This past weekend we FINALLY made it to the Farmer’s Market here in town. We’ve been talking about how we want to go for a looooooooong time, but with our hectic schedules, we haven’t quite made it happen. But we did this weekend, and I loved it!
It’s definitely not anything to compare to the farmer’s market experience we had in Austin, but it was still lovely. The weather was on the gray and sticky side, but that didn’t bother us too much. Peanut wasn’t quite sure what was going on when we first got out of the car, but in typical Peanut fashion, she warmed up quickly and waved hello to the entire market.
Love the way this handsome Daddy looks at his little girl!
The local produce was beautiful, and we ended up going home with zucchini and squash.
Once we got to the far end and started taste testing cheeses and some whipped honey (both of which we ended up buying), I totally forgot to keep taking pictures. Between the delicious food and chasing Peanut around, I’d say it’s understandable.
One sweet thing about the market was the live music. The young woman performing was incredibly sweet and even more talented, and she was so so so kind to offer to give Peanut her first lessons. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a better version of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”!
All in all, we had a great time at the market, ran into some of the nicest people, got some great food and we will definitely be returning! If you’re in the East Texas area, be sure to check it out!!
