Some newborn portrait sessions are tough – the baby doesn’t want to settle, the parents seem stressed, etc. Then there are newborn portrait sessions where I leave wondering if it was in fact a real baby, a real family, that I was photographing because everything just went so smoothly… this was one of those sessions! Little Eloise, Ellie, was a dream. And her sweet parents? They definitely did NOT seem like they were new to this whole parenting gig.

I absolutely love getting a mix of the more “posed” newborn portraits with different baskets, wraps, props etc. and then more relaxed, lifestyle type images as well, and the blend we got during Ellie’s session just makes my heart happy!!!

Getting smiles during newborn sessions makes me really happy, but there is something even better when that smile happens when tucked safely in mama or daddy’s arms!!! Love it!!
