As I looked at the remains of the cake waiting to be cleaned up, completely pulverized and smashed into the flooring of the girls’ playroom…. I smiled. You’d think with all that cleaning to do, a smile wouldn’t be my reaction, but that mess of crumbs & frosting was proof of a sweet baby boy having a blast. It was proof of this photographer getting to spend a year with his family.
JP and his family came to our house in Kingwood for a few quick family portraits and JP’s chance to smash some cake. We started with portraits (both inside & out). I love to not only photograph my Little Ones clients, but their whole families. Because, you see, that sweet little one is a part of a family. And that family is growing right along side them. I love knowing that someday they’ll get to look back and watch their family grow together through these photos!!
Don’t you just love those curls & that dimple?!?!?!! So dang cute!!
These outdoor portraits remind me of their maternity session & it gets me all sappy thinking that we’re already done with JP’s Little Ones sessions!
LOVE this one!
Those eyes!!!!! And Kristan – you are gorgeous, mama!!!
Those first moments of the cake smash are always so fun!!! Will they dive right in? Will they hate the feeling of the frosting? You never know!
Clearly JP had no issues with how the frosting felt!!
Most sessions end up involving mom or dad giving some assistance with the fact that the cake is supposed to be eaten… we tried our best, but JP mostly just wanted to smash/smear instead of eat!
These moments always crack me up… you can tell the little one is looking up at mom or dad thinking “How am I getting away with making all this mess?!?!?”
JP eventually got around to eating some of the cake – after he’d smashed it all!
Look at those cake pieces fly!!
